I am trying to work out some weekly meal prep options that are very easy to make in bulk and eat without second guessing. I am thinking I should keep it as simple as possible so I can stick with it. So something like chicken, a veg, and white rice with some butter and salt. I know this is generally considered a healthy meal but for muscle gain, I don't know if rice is ideal. I am just trying to get more calories in as I am fairly thin and I know I don't eat enough as is to put on muscle.
Rice is fine and for a lot of people it offers a cleaner carb to digest. Also, if you are bulking, it makes it easier to get more calories into your daily amount. I don't know about you but I am hungry 3 to 4 hours after consuming rice!!
Rice is considered a "fast carb" so you do end up burning through it faster, assuming your body uses it. The only issue with it is when people eat too much of it. From my understanding, eating it with protein and making sure you get your workouts in, it is nothing to worry about.
