Always use frozen fruit

I learned that when you are making protein smoothies, you want to use frozen fruit. Why? It makes it cold and the protein powder is less chalky. 

For shakes, most people use some form of dairy be it cold milk or vanilla ice cream so there is always a chill factor being added but nothing beats frozen fruit.
