I know collagen plays a role in healthy skin tissue and joint mobility but in terms of muscle, I am just not sure. I have read that some people do use it for gaining muscle but I would feel like it wouldn't really help much if at all compared to protein options like whey. It seems more like an additional supplement to enhance the whey and recovery more than anything else. Am I wrong?
Whey protein is superior and there is no question about it.
Collagen supports muscle health indirectly. This is by means of strengthening the connective tissues like tendons and ligaments. It also reduced joint pain and helps with recovery. It is great for people that do cardio, not so much for people lifting and looking to gain muscle.
