I was honestly not aware that whey protein came in different types so I am somewhat confused about this. I don't want to end up getting the wrong protein supplement.
From my understanding, there is WPC which is whey concentrate, WPI which is isolate, and WPH which is hydrolysate - something I have never heard of in my life! I am not sure if this matters or not but considering there are three forms on the market, there has to be a reason behind this. I am curious if the type actually matters and if it does, what would be best for beginners?
I will start by saying QUALITY matters first and foremost over any type you go with. If you have low-quality whey, it will not matter which you use.
In terms of which to use, I always recommend WPI. You get the most protein with minimal lactose and fat. This means it is better for your digestion and faster absorbed.
I agree about the quality mattering more than the type. You can get any kind you want but even if it is the best "form", a lower quality whey will not give you as good of results. I have used a number of more expensive and cheaper varieties. You don't need to spend a ton but you want to avoid the cheap/budget brands for sure.

Bingo. This is what I try to get across to anyone new so they don't waste money.
WPI is the "best" but if it is low quality, any other type of higher quality would be a better option.
So I am going to get whey for sure. Glad I asked this. I really wasn't sure which type but I will look for quality over type first.
That being said, what are things that would classify a brand or blend as higher quality?
