I prefer to do my sessions without anything in my stomach. I tend to get a bit sick to my stomach if I eat beforehand so I stopped doing that a few months ago. I also stopped using my protein shakes before working out since I noticed that did it to. I just stick with water.
Is eating or drinking a protein shake after just as beneficial or would it be better to do both prior to working out (by a number of hours to avoid an upset stomach)?

Basically, it does not matter. You will see similar results whether you use protein before or after. I don't know why people are still so fixated on this. Some will say one is right and the other is wrong, bro trust me it does not matter!
