I am having a hard time finding ones that do not contain whey/animal protein in them. Maybe I should be looking somewhere else? I have tried a few shops local to me and there is nothing. I am shocked considered how many vegetarians there are now these days. Does anyone know of any good options?

Whey comes from dairy so that is fine for vegetarians, is it not? Unless you opt to avoid things like milk and cheese.
I don't really see any protein bars where you have to worry about consuming animal product, it is all byproduct.
